SIMULATION WORKSHOPS

Why do I need a project simulation workshop?
The fastest way to learn core skills. Project management skills such as planning and controlling are essential in every industry sector. You can learn these skills in one or two days – rather than weeks – and at a fraction of the cost of traditional classroom training.
Theory is not enough. Traditional project management courses will teach you the theory. But to learn effectively, people need to put theory into practice and experience the consequences of their actions.
Support to project management qualifications. Our public schedule includes workshops that are aligned to the PRINCE2, APM and PMP exam syllabuses.
Online delivery. All our simulation workshops are delivered online and can be accessed remotely from anywhere in the world.

PROJECT PLANNING & CONTROL
Our one -day Project Planning & Control workshop requires no previous experience.
In the morning session you’ll learn some core project management planning skills – and then put them into practice. You’ll be working as part of a team to refurbish a school.
In the afternoon you put your plan into action and respond to a range of real-world risks and issues.
At the end of the simulation the project’s stakeholders will provide detailed feedback on your team’s performance.
ADVANCED PROJECT MANAGEMENT
SKILLS
On day one you’ll meet the project’s stakeholders and assess their priorities for time, cost and quality and risk. You’ll also need to agree a procurement strategy and negotiate a contract.
On the second day your team will allocate resources to the project and create the budget and schedule. The simulation puts your plan into action and your team will need to you respond to a range of real-world risks and issues.
At the end of the simulation the stakeholders will provide detailed feedback on your team’s performance.
WORKSHOP ONE
Title: Project Planning and Control
Duration: One Day
Our one-day project simulation workshop focuses on the project management essentials. Participants work as a team to plan and control a school build project.
Learning outcomes include:
- Time & resource scheduling
- Critical path analysis
- Earned value management
- Time/cost/quality trade offs
WORKSHOP TWO
Title: Advanced Project Management
Duration: Two Days
In our two-day advanced workshop, participants work as a team on a project to build a major sports stadium with multiple stakeholders.
In addition to the learning outcomes of the Project Planning and Control workshops participants practise:
- Contract negotiation & management
- Stakeholder identification & engagement
- Risk & issue management
- High level decision making

Both workshops can be run for between 8 and 20 participants.
Individuals can join one of our open public workshops, or organizations can book exclusive in-house events.
The workshops can be tailored to structured project management approaches including PRINCE2 and the APM Body of knowledge.
